  1. Four 14.00 x 20 Military bar grip pattern tyres, plenty of tread, might even be NOS. located in Lincolnshire. £200 each. Not seen any of these for sale for years. Perfect for wartime vehicle restorations. Excuse the mud, it's from wheeling them across the yard.
  2. If anyone needs any bits for these bowsers then please get in touch as I'm scrapping a couple. No pumps unfortunately but I do have a spare original Lister A engine available.
  3. Interesting, certainly isn't stamped in the usual Air Ministry style but I suppose it might be a factory stamp 'AM Air Ministry/ WD War Department' perhaps.
  4. Hi All, Does anyone have a spare Lucas swivel light avaliable for sale please? Thanks
  5. Genuine Wartime examples are quite rare and expensive in the U.K. The last one I saw at auction sold for 14K. Postwar although slightly different pop up from time to time. This one built in 1943 and registered in '46 is this Summers project to repaint.
  6. That's great, thanks for the reply I think I'll treat myself to a can. Did you thin it much?
  7. Thanks, that's really good of you Richard.
  8. Can anyone confirm if the David Brown VIGs are Type. 2601 please? Thanks
  9. Would you mind sharing the paint code please? It does look very good.
  10. Some more info for you: http://www.airfieldresearchgroup.org.uk/forum/airfield-vehicles/4172-towed-fuel-bowsers?start=10
  11. Here you Andrew, I knew I had a picture somewhere. Tim
  12. Hi all, I found this trailer picture on the Internet and would be very grateful if anyone can put me in touch with the owner please. Does anyone recognise it? Thanks
  13. Correction, too hasty on the keyboard..... Orange 😊 which went on to become became the International standardised colour. If you are trying to revive an earlier look then the striped socks were a common sight.
  14. Either plain canvas, red/ white stripes or black/ white stripes but not orange as these are a standardised postwar modern versions that you see at airports now.
  15. Hi Pete, it's Tim here from Metheringham, keep up the good work, it's coming together mate!
  16. I think you might be referring to standard British built Butler headlights that the black out mask can be fitted to. The jeep I brought that had previously served in the British Army had Butlers instead of the USA fitted type.
  17. Great project. We are slowly fabricating new Matador cabs so might be able to help with your project. Where are you located?
  18. Great job, what shade of green paint are you using, looks really good?
  19. Hi all, Here is a picture of a project that we are just about to start work on. She's a 1943 Series 7 Coles crane mounted on a 6 wheeled AEC Matador chassis. We have recently started to expand our museum, a former Bomber Command airfield and started up an MT section at the Metheringham Airfield Visitor Centre near Lincoln where we also have a 6 wheeled AEC fuel bowser, Queen Mary, oil bowser trailers, bomb trollies and a few other wartime airfield related bits and bobs. We would be very grateful for assistance with the project and if anyone could help us locate any other scrapped cranes that we can source parts from for an accurate restoration please. Likewise, we are always interested to hear of any wartime airfield related equipment that can be purchased for preservation at RAF Metheringham please, especially a single axle airfield caravan. Thanks Tim
  20. Seen as the vehicles make the show then surely there must be scope to use some of the profits to lay on free haulage for the armour?
