  1. I'll be taking the Snatch to this on the Saturday and then Duxford on the Sunday. Shame otherwise I would have made a weekend of it.
  2. Here is the chap I brought one of my antennas from, if you look at the antennas in the background those are the type you need. I have attached a picture of the antennas that the seller sent me and the type you need. He may still have one left his email is SCLARKFISHER@aol.com http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221317267078?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 Here are the details measurements and some links to source some bits for them short stubby antennas: 1x 70mm odia by 300mm long, paint light stone and the lower 30mm in satin/matt black and 1x 70mm odia by 245mm long, paint light stone and the lower 60mm in satin/matt black 2x 70mm dia by 38mm long black rubber cap, i used scotch bright to dull the surface to a matt/satin finish http://www.componentforce.co.uk/category/5/round-plastic-cap-50-100mm antenna with rubber gaiter: 1x 590mm long by 50mm odia 1x 50mm dia by 50mm long black rubber cap, i used scotch bright to dull the surface to a matt/satin finish http://www.componentforce.co.uk/category/4/round-plastic-cap-25-50mm 1x 50-60mm trailer coupling bellows: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Universal-Fitting-Coupling-Gaiter-Bellows-/190874124215?pt=UK_Trailers_Transporters_Parts&hash=item2c70fbffb7
  3. Matt there is a chap on the Facebook Snatch group who has at least one part of the H frame available. The tubes on the roof of my Snatch are antennas, some are genuine and rest are replica's made out of various tubes, I will get you the measurements and pics of them for you along with the other items I mentioned before.
  4. The facebook group is not viewable or searchable unfortunately, so you need an invite and approval by an admin, If you pm me you email address i can invite you to the group, and then hopefully an admin will accept. mine has most of its camo, but I am due to pick up a complete set of camo this weekend and i will use parts of that to complete mine, so I will have some spare camo parts mine when I first got it current state. I am in the process of getting the 3 radio systems re installed and working ready for next years season so once thats done and the camo parts fitted along with the last of the 10 antennas and the spotlight braket being made and fitted. it will be compleate bar the gps system and replica ecm equipment
  5. No prob Matt, I'll be removing the camo anyway to fix a leak on the roof, I already have the wire cutter measurements and pics from mine as I measured it for someone else, in the meantime it might be worth joining the Facebook group and seeing if any members on there have any of the items you need. from memory it was mattblack aka Colin who saw the wire cutters for sale at W&PR so he might remember the trades name. I noticed in one of your other posts your after the camo, I might be able to help with that also. I'll post pics and measurements shortly.
  6. Donk/matt, do you mean the h frame or the panel that the H frame mounts to or both? I can get you pics and measurements of any along with the wire cutter if you need them, I do know a trader at War and peace revival had a bundel of wire cutters for sale, also the wire cutters vaired dependent on weather its NI or Iraq or afgan spec that you want to represent.
  7. Nickffr that possibly sounds like the Paul I am collecting the camo from, as he has just returned his back to NI spec Defv8 Ive heard good things of the expo, site says 200+ stalls, from bullets to vehicles for sale, i remember when it was about 20 stalls, although ive not been up recently, and an added bonus is the air museum is right next door to make the day more worth while.
  8. Shaun feel free to repost, gearbox wise not sure yet as not had a chance to drop it yet.
  9. I was booked in with the Snatch but it didn't make it due to the gearbox throwing a hissy fit. So I went as non exibitior on the Sunday and even with the A11 being out of action the journey was easy enough. Sunday couldn't have been blessed with better weather for October. the was some nice bits of kit on display and in action, it was nice to have a big enough arena for the vehicles to stretch there legs in, for a first event I thought the show was very good and especially nice to have a show like this to round out the season. here are my pics.
  10. Yay another fellow Snatch owner. Welcome to HMVF and Snatch ownership both great things. 1. no idea on the bumperrte question, maybe there for securing large antenta masts when static. 2. not sure what the switch is for, mine just goes into the loom and ive not tracked it yet 3 possibly to stop the heater being used at all when in hot climates 4 i am due to pic up a windscreen camo at northen expo on 4th november, I can get measurements and pics for you. you can get history for you Snatch for free by making a FOI to the MOD. Lastly try joining the The Land Rover Snatch Club on facebook, as they have lots of files/manuals and pics on there and much more knowledgeable people than me on there who are happy to help wit questions and other things Snatch and non Snatch related. you might need an invite but just PM me and i will send you one. Ps Any pics or history of you Snatch Hope this helps Tyler
  11. I'm booked in and will be taking the Snatch.
  12. Finally got recovered at 2:30am this morning after waiting since 5:30pm yesterday Many thanks to the Gruard house staff for letting me kip in the reseption rather than carrying on kipping in the Snatch and supplying a much needed cuppa. Not sure I will be recomending the Rac to anyone in the near future
  13. Good show as always, so good in fact I am still here kipping in the Snatch waiting to be recovered.
  14. I will be going with the Snatch, I have a spare vehicle pass if anyone needs it.
  15. I used Peterborough DVLA office to register the Snatch this week, they were brilliant less than 30 mins start to finish and I was done, shame they are all closing except Swansea
  16. hi Chris, sorry for the late reply. Thanks for the first hand information and the pic (i got excited at it for a bit as i thought the number plates were the same as mine). i have found 2 pics on the web that my be mine but both have the last 2 digits covered/obscured the previous owner had fitted the cut out bull bar as it was missing when he brought it, so it makes it difficult to determine which bull bar is the correct one as per Iraq theater which is what i want it to represent. I am going to leave the bodywork condition as is, because i want it to represent a intheater vehicle rather than restored etc, it has some call signs and names written on the sunvisor. Ive refitted the 2 radio boxes. but all of the inservice pics i have seen either have 2 ecm boxes or no radio boxes or just 1 radio box fitted. so ive got to find out/ decide which way to fit it out. here are some pics of mine: when i first go it: current: full album of pics: http://s27.photobucket.com/user/landyboy/library/?sort=3&page=1
  17. Hi, i though i would post this so that other snatch owners could compare there mounts/fittings to others and I was wondering if anyone could assist me. I am trying to find how mine would have been fitted out, either NI or Desert spec, and how i can go about getting it original/close as possible EG if desert: was it fitted with radio or ECM or both? i know that the ECM and Bowman stuff is secret and still in use etc so not available, but where can i get antenna similar to the originals/ where have other snatch owners got there antenna from? does anyone have any decent pics or measurements of the ECM boxes/antenna used on the snatch's rather than the vixens? Racking/ mounts: radio or ECM or both? radio mount? wing mounts:: radio:yes, is the large hole for ECM bolt/wires? roof mounts: does anyone know the make or model of the GPS dome that was mounted here? or does anyone have pics or measurements of it so i can make a replica? were all snatch 1Bs fitted with the light? as the pics i have seen seem to suggest only some had them fitted? would mine have had the light? is the cable pictured for the light? it runs from the battery. does anyone know the make or model of the light dome that was mounted using the 2 groups of bolts at the bottom of the pic? or does anyone have pics or measurements of it so i can make a replica? mount for gps radio or beacon? antenna: anyone have any decent pics of them or similar to the originals/ where have other snatch owners got there antennas from? Gps: where would this have been fitted? mount above passengers door? The Bowman headsets that are on eBay sometimes, can these be used with other makes/models E.G clansman or used to make an intercom between driver and topcover? Sorry for all the questions. Tyler

  19. Hi, can any one advise me on where the best place to get a 6v battery for the 39 morris 8 series e, as the current one is kapput. Thanks
  20. hi thanks for the help and the leads. i used this company in the end: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tractor-Forklift-Lorry-Or-Any-Vehicle-Transport-Throughout-The-UK/230950883987?ssPageName=WDVW&rd=1&ih=013&category=92021&cmd=ViewItem the bloke was called nigel and his number is 07788554692 the price was very good £200 inc vat (the highest i was quoted was £460+vat, so it defiantly pays to shop arround), excellent communication and very good all round. i would highly recommend him. Thanks
