    Gpmg

Try Chris Hobbs on facebook at https://www.facebook.com/Geartechcustompaint/ thats where I got my airsoft version for £425 posted. Its a m240b but only a few visual differences which can be sorted by fitting genuine GPMG parts. So much better than any replica version you can buy, plus if you ever sell it you have a wider market to sell it into. Hope this helps. Tyler

  3. Just a slight revive. Hi Clive do you have this document? As I have this type of vehicle. Its not a Snatch per se, they were built later around 1999, compared to the Snatchs that were built in 1992-3. They had slightly better protection and a few design changes such as the 4 large windows in the rear pod and a few other changes including a 300tdi rather than the 3.5 V8. Thanks
  4. So I went to stoneleigh and spoke to the W&P organisers. No one can leave the site at all on Saturday as public on site till midnight. You can only leave after 6am+ Sunday. Where all those vehicles camped parallel to the main road (marked black on map) will be moved to Kitcheners field, as that area will be for public car park. No extra toilets or showers in Kitcheners field to cope with the increase. Each booking will get a 10x10 pitch and be checked on saturday to see if exhibits still there. Exhibits will enter using same gate as 2015 and public will use same road a few meters down the road. No arrivals/access to site after 8am any day. Also for those wishing to drive to the stalls the only parking for MVs is the one near the living history/food court.

  7. Footman james insured mine on VIN for 30 days, then just kept ringing up to extend it every 28 days or so. I did have it on a multi policy so that helped. Where are you based? seat cushions: try mattblack on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/mattblack2003?_trksid=p2047675.l2559 he may be able to help.
  8. Hi Iain Price I would say people tend to under sell these by a lot. I would say over £4500 easy, I would say looking at what you've done £6500 is closer, its always better to start high and drop it down if lack of interest, but all the road worthy examples tend to sell very quickly and easily. You cant buy cheaper, more usable, easier to maintain armour. and here aren't that many Snatch's around compared to the 280ish released. I think there must be around 30-40 in private hands on the road or being rebuilt, and once there 25+years old I would guess a few will head to the States. Not sure if your on either of these groups: Snatch/WMIK Land Rover Club or The Land Rover Snatch / WMIK Owners Club https://www.facebook.com/groups/snatchlandrover/ but both are the best places for help info parts and buyers etc. Tyler

  12. First time I drove wmik to work I got pulled by 2 unmarked armed response officers on there way back from training, they knew it was civi due to plate colours but still had to call it in as few days after Luton incident last year. So the chopper was on route as was the on duty super intendant and the full Audi Q7 armed response team. They wanted a butchers and to let me know that a member of the public might call it in as a stolen Millitary vehicle with guns on. I responded by saying its just as well Ive had a shave and chose not to wear the shmag today. They managed to call the chopper off but the super and AR still attended as protacall. Only issue they had was that although the gpmgs were covered they were not secured with chains etc. Super simply said "knew it would be you two" And I got to look at the gear in the Q7 boot and plenty of pics were taken both theres and mine toys. Quite nice event for all as one of the 2 unmarked officers was due to retire so he had one last AR call before he finished.

  16. Hi and welcome, Ive sent you a PM which should help you.
  17. As I said just going off what the chaps at the exhibitors gate were saying, who were DAS and Military vehicle wing personnel. I was sat at the gate for 30min+ chatting to them so it wasn't a case of flippant remarks etc. Over the years speaking to DAS and Military vehicle wing personnel and radio group the recurring theme is that the museum doesn't support the show enough. even some museum staff have stated "no that's nothing to do with the museum" when members of the public have asked about the military vehicle show.
  18. Gutted for the hobby and more importantly the people that run it. Many years ago I visited the show in a friend of a friends Jeep and that show got me hooked for life. All I do is take my vehicles to shows, I have no experience in running shows but In my opinion Duxford Military show could be great. for the following reasons: location: great transport links with M11 and A14. Facility's: the biggest and best aircraft museum in the country with a brilliant military vehicle museum, hard standing, plenty of space for loading/unloading, it has a proper arena to displaying collection and private vehicles and even a runway to do the same. Space for camping. Very secure site not like other shows like W+P Now ask yourself which other show has half of these things and doesn't charge exhibitors The only thing I would change is make it 2 day event as would likely attract more people (exhibitors and public and stall holders) from further afield. and if the stall holders pitch prices are anything like air show days then cut the prices of pitch s. and allow exhibitors to sell items Playing devils advocate here: If it became a 2 day show Possibly ask for a donation £5 from exhibitor and ring fence it for use on the show or military vehicle wing/DAS, after all again ask yourself which other show has half of these things and doesn't charge exhibitors and remember its £17.50 Adult to enter the show. You could even sweeten it by seeing if the petrol station will do a discount on fuel for exhibitors only. as I know a small 1940's show managed to do that. As per the above posts and what i picked up talking to the guys on the gate ant this years show Half the problem is that the museum doesn't support the show apart from the listing on there website. Do they not see that they also financial and advertising benefit from the show as it is let alone if they actually supported it more than they did. As I said All I do is take my vehicles to shows, I have no experience in running shows these are just my views. Again I'm gutted for the hobby and more importantly the people that run it.
