  1. I don't think those ones are flat, they look to be the later convex type. The earlier ones were flat, a particular disadvantage was that in daylight a smooth flat surface could glint markedly in Sunlight.
  2. I collect War Office Lists that should not be confused with Army Lists. This edition was published in April 1914 has no references to MI 5, MI 6 etc because at that time they did not exist as such. The WO collection of intelligence was through the Director of Military Operations with Sections MO 1 -MO 6 under the authority of the Department of the Chief of Imperial General Staff. By 1919 MO X had formed to include some intelligence roles and a Director of Military Intelligence had formed within the Department of the Imperial Chief of General Staff with sections MIR (a-c), MI 1 (a-g), MI 2 (a-b), MI 3 (a-e), MI 4 (a-d), MI 5 (a-h), MI 6 (a-d), MI 7 (a-d), MI 8 (a-d), MI 9 (a-e) and MI 10. All quite complicated stuff that was to get ever more complex with time!
  3. As time went on these catalogues became less frequent, I think I have them all. As far as Salamander goes: 1954 Nothing 1956 Two exhibits FV 651(A) complete vehicle & the chassis 1962 Runway Surface Friction Test Vehicle (no FV no.) & FV652 1966 You have this 1971 Nothing 1981 FV652
  4. Oh sorry didn't realise it was a deliberate snip. This an interesting shot of 26 AG 63 I think.
  5. A few missing from the list that I know of: 03 AG 84 03 AG 87 03 AG 98 Given the totals at the top & the two columns on the right being correct, it looks as the two columns on the left have got chopped off as they only show 12 per column. :
  6. Yes the chassis has its own two pages straight after the full bodied FV 651(A) pages. Here is the FV 6001 entry for 1954.
  7. That FV 652 that appears in 1962 & 1966 catalogues appears in the 1956 catalogue as FV 651(A) with the same photo & description. There is also basic chassis catalogued. The 1954 catalogue shows an even earlier version as FV 6001
  8. That description in the 1966 catalogue originally appeared in the 1962 catalogue. There are a few more details of the differences of Mk in these pages from AP 278E Book 1.
  9. I've got some RAF pages that describe the differences between the Mks have you got that? If not I can scan them.
  10. Asset Code 2455-0065 Contract No. FV2522 If you google that you will just get Adidas golf shoes : (
  11. Just found the other one NGY 839 also a LR fire tender sold on 6/12/66 Sale No.87, Lot No.381 which sold for £330
  12. I wasn't going to look again but curiosity got the better of me. NGY 897 was sold on 19/4/66 Sale No.83, Lot No.161 listed as Land Rover Fire Tender Series 86, 4x4. The dealer obviously liked it circled the entry in Biro & noted "OK 2 1/4"
  13. The definitive description for the era of interest is Concealment in the Field 1957, WO Code No.9459 It replaced three WW2 camouflage publications that covered vehicles, artillery & AA artillery. It shows a wide range of nets & garnishes, there are instructions on how to make your own or embellish existing nets with garnish. The book is not uncommon, in fact on bookfinder.com there 66 copies for sale, but only one is original. Twenty years ago a company reprinted the book, I have never seen the reprint so can't speak for the quality of the reproduced illustrations. Line drawings often reproduce well, but there are 271 illustrations most of which are photographs and bearing in mind many of the photos are quite hard to discern, for the obvious reason that they depict camouflage! I would always prefer to have the proper book rather than a reprint made 46 years later.
  14. No sorry I don't recall which two NGYs I spotted & in which two catalogues they were in, I was only on the lookout for yours.
  15. Well I have looked through the six sales catalogues for 1966 & only found two Land Rovers NGY, but not yours. Bearing in mind each catalogue covers often four days of sales that is a lot of entries. Although Land Rovers were generally sold with other small vehicles on the first day of each sale, but gosh each sale had many hundreds of Champs. I may have missed it but I can't face going through them again, it takes longer not to find an entry than finding it!. For good measure I have just checked the first sale in 1967 & not found it. But there were disposal sales other than Ruddington.around that time eg: Branston, Aston Down, Wem, Melton Mowbray, Alrewas etc. But I have only a few catalogues for those.
  16. EB the final Maintenance Schedule for S3 Rover was AESP 2320-D-100-601, probably someone has made an FOI request & is out there.
  17. That is the Ring, lashing FV11735 with one per wheel arch. For the floor there are ten Ring, lashing FV12614, I'll search for a picture.
  18. Simon yes I am sure your interpretation of the D-rings & drain plugs is correct. There was beefing up on Mk1 for air cooling, generator & water tank roles. I have drawings of the individual support plates if you need them.
  19. I have accurate line drawings of both Mk1 and Mk2, both depict close fitting duck boards that look to need just a flat unobstructed floor. That page from the 1954 FVRDE catalogue I believe is incorrectly labelled as Mk2. The swaged X sides were characteristic of Mk1, whereas Mk2 had plane sides. The same picture & description appears in the 1956 catalogue but with the reference to Mk2 deleted & now designated 2W/1L. The same picture (although doctored) appears in the 1962 edition & called Mk1. The details of the differences between the two Mks are covered in EMER WHEELED VEHICLES U 209 Misc Instr No.1 If you tell me the contract I can tell you if it is Mk1 or Mk2. To further complicate matter trailers FV 2301(A) 2W/1L were redesignated as FV 2308(A) Mk2, although there was no Mk1 in the FV 2308 series.
  20. Not for sale & I'm afraid scanning is too time consuming. But I don't mind scanning a few pages if there is some particular detail you need. Is yours or what you are trying to emulate, a Mk7 or Mk7/1 or Mk7B? The differences of the later variants are covered in EMER ENGINEERING & MISCELLANEOUS L 310/1 Equipment, Remote Handling, Tracked, EOD (Wheelbarrow), All Marks & Variants. Data Summary. Sep 1982 L 313/1 Equipment, Remote Handling, Tracked, EOD (Wheelbarrow), All Marks & Variants. Unit & Field Repairs. Aug 1982 L 317/1 Equipment, Remote Handling, Tracked, EOD (Wheelbarrow), All Marks & Variants. Modifications No. 1-19
  21. I have Army Code No.61666 Illustrated Parts Catalogue. Remote Handling Equipment, Tracked, EOD Mk 7 (Wheelbarrow). Jul.1977
