They were the standard 5 inch rims for Lightweights. Original tyres being 6.50 x 16 - which are almost impossible to find now!

I have seen these modified wheels fitted on MOBAT Recoilless Rifles. Others may be able to confirm if it was a modification specifically for MOBAT.
-
On a Champ they are wired / labelled GR = Ground (Earth) BK = Brake (Not used originally as no brake lights were fitted) . TL = Tail Lights and SL = Number Plate Light / Convoy Light
The Rover 6, 7 , 8 and 9 Handbook also indicates similar wiring
I think if you look closely R is actually B also there is a T to the left of L so that terminal is TL so it makes sense

I didn't spot the 'The Horse' bit but had a recollection that 'Bull's troop was RHA - got to the same place regardless
-
I had spotted that, see link to 'Bulls Troop'

I believe 19ZR19 was part of a batch of serials allocated to Comets

In the cold winter of 1947 my dad was a vehicle mechanic in the UK and got fed up of draining the vehicles each night so persuaded the MTO to buy some anti-freeze on petty cash.
-
I believe it indicates the cooling system is filled with anti-freeze

Ruxy, they do appear difficult to find. Fortunately there is an online copy available, I will just keep looking.
Thanks

I had the same result, however if you search on Google for adblock plus you can then install it.
It's working fine now - normal service has been resumed!

If you are talking about the 1970's green BCF type you can obtain decals to replace the original printed data from

You can try approaching this from the other direction. If you know the persons details you can get their service record which will record units locations etc. https://www.gov.uk/get-copy-military-service-records/apply-for-someone-elses-records
This has given a very full set of information for my great uncle in the first world war and my great great etc grandfather who joined the 6th Dragoon Guards in 1819
Hope this helps

I am looking to sell my C42 Wireless station. The original plan was to fit this in my Champ or a Rover 6/7/8/9/10/11 this changed when I purchased a non FFR Rover1.
When last tested the intercom worked ok. I might willing to split the table etc,
Please PM me for more details if interested.
Thanks Richard

Looks like a Mark 1 with 3 periscopes for the driver (rather than one in the Mk2). Checking the VRN it started life as an Caernarvon and was / is at Shrivenham

I have always assumed it was for a water Jerry-can as per the one on the back of a Champ
