  1. I would hit the 'like' button! I'm new to the forum but following your restoration. Looking at some of the rot you repair is superb. Keep it going but after your steam
  2. Hello everyone. I've been looking through this forum for sometime now, and it's so interesting with so many great people and their vehicles that I decided to get closer by joining. Unfortunately I do not have a historic vehicle (unless I can include my 15 year old Suzuki 4x4!) but have got back into scale military vehicle modelling as I approach early retirement in a few years time. So I will be asking questions as I try to represent vehicles accurately but a lot smaller than real life I started out out as an electrical fitter apprentice in 1977, in Portsmouth Dockyard which was where I first worked on MoD landrover electrics. All other work was on warships and submarines but also was 'loaned' to Fleetlands to do helicopter repair. At the end of the apprenticeship I was offered an immediate job at RAE Farnborough and NGTE Pystock. This was all gas turbine testing and site maintenance. I then joined GPO Telephones where I've been for over 33 years and intend to retire in the next few. Cheers, John
