  1. Jim my mechanic has checked the and reckons the piston rods are okay, thinks the con rods may have gone
  2. Clive My FOI was successful, strangely I got one saying no then another saying here it is. I have now 3 MK 12, 2 MK 2 and a MK3, only 1 MK 12 has been used. Also have 4 sets of pans. Most parts there but need to do an inventory on the likes of funnels and spanners, waiting for better weather. PM replied to

  12. Thanks, just need to find a garage I can use, think my friend knows to a certain extent but hasn't worked on Land rovers for a while and needs an idea hence the question about tappits. will see if I can get one of those marquee shelters at the moment

  16. I got my friendly mechanic out yesterday, thankfully the camshaft turns but locks after 4 turns, we haven't started to dismantle the engine yet, the question he asked, its a 1986 Land Rover 110, is it like the old transit when the push rods for the tappits bends. Can any one help?
  17. Having read a lot on this and other sites I seem to see sand blasting to remove paint and rust is a good procedure. Not having much needing to be done at one time can any one recommend a kit, for a reasonable amount that I can use for occasional use, I have used a wire brush, hand and power drill, but does not clean as well. The materials are mainly metal and occasionally wood Thanks in advance

  22. Being more used to getting someone to help but trying to advance my skills. I have a Penman trailer where the hand brake handle has been bent, see picture, I have a new unissued one to replace it, prior to dismantling it I would ask HOW, yes the bolt at the fulcrum point needs taking off , its the bit hidden i.e. the release button and cable, how do you remove it and then fit in the new handle. Any idiots guide would be appreciated. I have already changed the jockey wheel handle in case any one notices. Grey Funnel Line
