  1. I remember the carrier now!. I only want to get back what I paid Clive for it,so £10 plus whatever the postage/carrier costs. Do you want to wait until after Beltring in case you see a better one?. Matt.
  2. Hi, I bought that can from Clive but as I have sold all my military Land Rover's it is no longer needed. I should add it has some holes so is suitable for display only. Please let me know if you are interested. Matt.
  3. Another factor,at least with WWII US vehicles is the type of stencil used, zinc sheet was common and getting a good edge with those would likely by difficult.
  4. Bits of mashed metal and tubs of sand are the thin end of the wedge,I have seen a number of dog tags from MIA's,both American and German WWI and 2 offered on ebay, one of the worst was a seller in Eastern Europe who was very openly digging up graves of German soldiers and selling everything he found with the exception of the bones(though he included photos of those too in his listings). There are some sick ****ers out there:mad:
  5. Hi Tom, Welcome!. It must be nice to have original wartime buildings on a former operational base!. Matt.
  6. That looks very nice! do you have any before pictures?. I would love a wartime Cat,just need earn some money!.

  8. I have just seen this via the Centre for Battlefield Archaeology http://www.edp24.co.uk/news/fens_bunny_hugger_row_latest_now_the_archaeologists_hit_back_at_council_leader_1_931924 http://www.facebook.com/#!/home.php?sk=group_163161013749820 Obviously this has serious implications for all kinds of archaeological sites in the Fens, including military sites. Matt.
  9. Yes it does. Some complete examples do survive in the US. EDIT:Also one in the UK it seems http://www.warandpeaceshow.com/Archive/2002-Show/Tug.html
  10. Thanks Rick. It's a shame we can't see any unit markings, although the men probably belonged to the OCTU there were a number of units based around here(hard to believe this now,Barmouth is the chav's seaside holiday choice!). Matt.
  11. The attached photo was taken in on Jubilee Road in Barmouth,West Wales during WW2,exact date unknown. The soldiers are said to belong to 164 OCTU which was based in the town during the war. Is there any way of uncovering any history of the Carrier from it's number? also can any of the Carrier experts confirm which model it is?. Thanks, Matt.
  12. Hi Paul, It is for the Cletrac!. Specifically it's the lower hose for the aircleaner to carb with the 90 degree bend in it. Thanks for your offer,I will measure it all up tomorrow!. BTW I have taken some more pics of the hood side panel catches which I will send you,I can send you one of the catches to copy if that helps?. Cheers, Matt.
  13. Many thanks to both of you for those links! Matt.
  14. Hi, I have done a few web searches but have drawn a blank. I'm looking for a supplier for larger size radiator hose, the internal diameter I need is is 3 1/8". If anyone can offer any pointers I would be most grateful! Thanks, Matt.
  15. I just spotted this, and the seller has several other WW1 era vehicles listed. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Vtg-WWI-USA-Liberty-Truck-Chassis-/360373816365?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item53e7f40c2d Matt.
  16. Hi Gordon, Interesting!. Does the parts book give any clue to the make/model of the transmission? is it a Cletrac unit?. Matt.
  17. Thanks Adrian!. I will try to see it in July, hopefully the owner does not want to sell as I don't have the cash to buy yet another project!.
  18. I still haven't had chance to see if I can track down the owner of the OD D4 but from memory it is fitted with the La Plante hydraulic blade, yet most WWII photos I have seen of D4's show the cable operated blade,Does anyone know if there is any specific data on why the two types of blade were used? or maybe the machine I know was originally a tractor and the blade was fitted post war?. Matt.
  19. Hi Adrian, If you don't mind me asking what make/model of HVLP rig are you using?. Thanks, Matt.
  20. Super shots of the Vixen! I have very fond memories of this aircraft when it was based at Llanbedr and have some pics of me and my brother sat in the cockpit of this, and most of the other aircraft based there!. The last time I actually saw it fly was when it left Llanbedr for the final time with Seppi at the controls.
  21. Hi Gordon, As it's a Cletrac diff it might be worth posting something on the Cletrac forum http://cletrac.org/forum2010/index.php Matt.
  22. Pictures of Cletrac steering levers and ratchets
  23. Gordon,I will take some photos of the Cletrac steering lever ratchets and post them later today. Matt.
  24. I can understand why the family would like to retain ownership, but if loaning to any museum I would be very cautious as should the museum close there is a very real risk of the panels being "lost". I'm pretty certain the Panton brothers at East Kirkby already have examples of Spit and Lanc panels in a display case. Another suggestion would be the Norfolk and Suffolk Aviation Museum at Flixton?.
