  1. This years Rauceby War Weekend looks to be the busiest ever. There will be a completely re-thought out battle all three days, much larger displays and military encampments with a larger amount of armoured vehicles including so far: A T34 Battle Tank, An M36 Jackson Tank Destroyer, And a few more all being well including half tracks and an M8 armoured car to name but a few. There are still a few tickets for the Saturday night dance left but they are selling up fast! £15 per head to get in for a fantastic night. We have a massive lineup including: The Ashby Big Band, Paul Harper, Natasha Harper, Katie Mustang. You'd be mad to pass up such an opportunity to experience such a night! The icing on the cake ladies and gentlemen is that there is a strong possibility that on the Sunday of the event we could be having a flyover by the BBMF Lancaster AND the Lancaster that has flown over from Canada. William Elkington is working very hard to get this confirmed and if all goes well this will be a very special moment so be sure not to miss it! This years event will massively outstrip all previous years so be sure not to miss it!
  2. Attention ladies and gentleman: The Rauceby War Weekend 2014 is now a mere four months away! Camping is also available for modern tents and caravans and there is entertainment on the Saturday night with a ticketed dance featuring the Ashby Big Band and a cabaret night on the Sunday featuring a variety of well known 40’s entertainers. There will also be entertainment on the Friday with music and dancing in the marquee. There will be plenty for the children to do also with grenade throwing and rifle drill sessions throughout the weekend. The Battalion Band and Corps of Drums of Lincolnshire Battalion, Army Cadet Force will also be attending and playing music throughout the weekend with the possibility of a marching display as well. We look forward to seeing you all there!

This is a ticket only dance. Tickets are £12. The entertainment on Friday and Sunday night is free. The marquee will also be used for various demonstrations like fashion shows, hair demonstrations (have your hair done 40’s style for the evening dance), and dancing etc. We will be having living history displays, re-enactors (people promenading in all sorts of different uniforms), and a large selection of military vehicles and classic cars with various stall holders Military & Civilian selling their wares to keep the public entertained. We are also having an arena where we will be having a staged battle each day (can be quite noisy), Vehicle parades (Military & Classic cars), Military band playing and demonstrations involving the public. We also have the Battle of Britain memorial flight doing a flypast with the Dakota on 24th,Spitfire & Hurrican on 25th, Dakota, Spitfire & Hurrican on 26th (All weather permitting). We have plenty of entertainment for the children with an old fashioned funfair, Paintball Arena and some participation events for them to join in like Grenade throwing and rifle cum boot camp drill. There is plenty of food sold on site with a NAFFI selling homemade wartime type sandwiches and cakes (unfortunately not 1940’s prices). There is also a bar selling real ales amongst other drinks to help quench your thirst. If you purchase a ticket for the Saturday night you have the chance to purchase real Ale at wartime price of 6d/pint (must produce 6 old pennies). Come along to SEE, FEEL, SMELL & HEAR as well as talk to the living history display personel to get a feeling as to what it was like. The Entry fee is £5/person/day with children who are 12 and under going free. Veterans, MVT Members and all car parking is free. We have plenty of camping for tents, caravans, and motor homes (Must be pre-booked. £4/night or £10 Max for 3 or 4 nights. You will also have to purchase your day tickets).Where else can you get all this entertainment for just £5. You can pre book your tickets and get them at £4/person/day with either a two day or three day pass. This is all educational to school children as they learn about WW2 at school. So, dig out your outfits from the loft, get dressed up and come and be part of this grand event and help raise for the above charities whilst having fun. Once you have been to one you will want to attend more. I hope that you can support us in some way. Venue: South Rauceby, Sleaford, Lincs. NG34 8PT William Elkington Event Organiser
