This used to be my truck from 2009 until 2013 when separation and divorce forced sale. From memory I had done or did the following repairs when I owned it:

    1) It had the brake wheel cylinders replaced with NOS ones when I had it
    2) I had to replace the carburettor and fit a supplementary hand bulb fuel pump to assist starting after long periods of rest
    3) I fitted netting under the rear canvas to discourage water from pooling
    4) I fitted reversing and rear fog lights (hence switch box behind gear lever) - there seems to be more wiring now though
    5) Most of the lower edges of the cab and wheel arches were reconstructed (being prone to rust)
    6) Modern HGV/Motorcaravan mirrors fitted
    7) Fitted UK headlights that dip the right way
    8) Replaced oil seals around transfer box
    9) replaced rubber bellows on steering linkage
    10) Replaced hydraulic pressure valve at end of slave brake cylinder with microswitch on pedal
    11) New batteries in 2010
    12) NOS tyres in 2010
    13) Fitted seat belts
    14) Replaced lower radiator hoses with modern silicone ones
    15) Fitted clock in rear (still there )
    16) Fitted better condition windscreen glass and frame
    17) fitted side indicator LED repeaters

From memory the fuel gauge never worked but all the other systems including the air brakes did.

Because of queries over age (V5 said 1959, but production history and serial suggest much later) I always had a class 7 MoT done and it did pass every year after some minor work - the replacement rubber steering linkage bellows in 2012 being the last thing done. Sadly funds and space do not permit buying it back

I hope it finds a good home and will be happy to share any info I have with the new owner

    Iain
