1942-43 desert Ambulance picture

a nice photo of my dad (Capt.Bauer RAMC) in front of an (Austin?) ambulance that he had just decorated sometime in '42 or '43. He was a talented artist - as can be seen in the picture. I particularly like the one top right!

Hi Womble,

I am pretty sure that is a Canadian Ford F30 ambulance, going by the window and locker door. Certainly not an Austin K2. Great artwork!

I'd go along with Richard. Definitely not a Mann Egerton body on a K2. Certainly a Canadian Body and I don't think there was a Chev version.

Must contravene the Geneva Convention !!!

Hi Gerard, that's a great photo. Do you have any more of your dad in service. It's great to look back at those days and see family members doing what a lot of youngsters have come to take for granted these days. If it wasn't for the bravery of the men and women back then we would not have the freedom we have today.

All the best Steve.
