fire ball red
Currently on my "Ben Hur " trailer and obviously not GMC type wheels, can anyone I.D. these for me please. The trailer has spent time in the French Army at some time. Many Thanks, Quentin.
retriever
Just fitted some tyres on to rims like these, I was told they were on an early dodge. difficult to get modern tubes to fit because of the position of the valve hole.
Gordon_M
Don't recognise it at all. Doesn't look like early Dodge or GMC, but can't be sure. Should be easy enough to find out though. If it is an American wheel it will have manufacturers ID and date code on the wheel surface somewhere around the bolt circle. Just clean it down and see what you find. fire ball red
Thank you for your replies, I will have a look for any markings, I did wonder if they were off a type of French vehicle, but I have found nothing similar. Q.
10FM68
Thank you for your replies, I will have a look for any markings, I did wonder if they were off a type of French vehicle, but I have found nothing similar. Q. I looked at your photo and, before had reached your explanation of it having served in the French Army, I had thought, "they look French", so I would continue to look in that direction if I were you. They certainly don't smack of being American. 10 68.
fire ball red
Thank you 1068, I did have a look through the Bart Vanderveen "bible" and there are some similar wheels on vehicles in the French section. A positive I.D. would be needed as they will be for sale when I start restoration. QB
TooTallMike
Hi, I've only seen these on French Ben Hur trailers so they may have been especially made. However some Citroen light trucks used similar. Google Citroen U23. - MG
