Leyland L60 №4 Mk's...

Woldemar

Question

Hello!

i often read about 850 bhp L60, but can't find any Mk with such bhp

and about any other Mk's

L60 №4 Mk4A - 650bhp(485kW) at 2100 rev/min by Chieftain Mk1-3 handbook

L60 №4 Mk7A - 720bhp(537kW) at 2250 rev/min by Chieftain Mk5 handbook

L60 №4 Mk7A - 695bhp(706DIN) at 2250 rev/min by Chieftain MBT Vehicle Mechanic Initial

why there is such a big difference for same engine ?

L60 №4 Mk11A- 720bhp(730DIN) at 2250 rev/min by Chieftain MBT Vehicle Mechanic Initial

L60 №4 Mk13A- 695bhp(706DIN) at 2250 rev/min by Chieftain MBT Vehicle Mechanic Initial

Chieftain Mk.10 used Mk.11A engine ?

As far as I can remember the only major differences on the Mk 10 to its predecessors were the addition of IFCS and Stillbrew composite armour. Maybe Richard F knows more??

Neil,

I am afraid I am no expert on the Chieftain, but young Eli could tell you more, watch this;

Love his comments on the L60, reckon his father was a crewman.
