ruxy Posted May 6, 2017 Share Posted May 6, 2017 Defo. the common style (that I knew of - there were others) Riveters hammer , I still have a few new ones (most I gave away) - saved a hessian sack full , along with a few lead ladles. I was on a visit to Shaw's Foundry , Forty Foot Road , Middlesbrough almost 40 years ago. They originated from King's toolstore in the town - due to go in the melt pot. Kings must have known they were never going to sell another one. I worked alongside boilermaker / rivet squads for several years , the 'holder-up' always kept a pair on his dolly trolley , had been in common use once but then only used when a pneumatic hammer could not be got into a difficult position.
