43rdrecce
I've done a quick NSN check but there is no detail as to the vehicle these were intended for. They will fit the old curved Desmo type mirrors though the corners need to be trimmed slightly. They are 3" x 6" Can anyone identify what the original usage was? 6MT3 2540 99 803 0599 Thanks Paul

0 43rdrecce
Excellent thanks very much. They are in 1970s packaging so figured something like that, but thanks for the confirmation. Cheers Paul
0 Richard Farrant
First issued on FV432 Think you will find this glass / mirror, dates back much further than FV432. Before conversion to a NSN it was 6MT3/44297 and was around in WW2 era. These mirrors were supplied by several firms, Desmo, Radydot and Winguard from memory. The glasses do differ slightly between makes. Last vehicles to have them in service were Ferrets as remember fitting the modified arms for the modern mirrors. 0 David B.
First issued on FV432 I think this mirror assembly was listed as :- "Mirror oblong convex WD 1924 type" The slight difference in glass fitting is probably accounted for by the different makers as mentioned by Richard. 0 43rdrecce
Thanks both for the further information. The actual packaging is dated (on checking) December 1981 so slightly later than I'd remembered. As I say these will fit the WW2 Desmo type mirrors with a little trimming but as has been pointed out there were different makers. Thanks again Paul
0 DMC 7RU
Just going by entry in ISIS (Item of Supply Information System) - one of the earlier Additional notes does state "FOR WD 1924 MIRROR". It's still a current item although the NSN has changed to 9340-99-803-0599 (9340- Glass fabricated materials).
