Tony B
Gentelmen! For the collective search and problem worrying of the Forum Been to Militay Odessey today, and purchased a pig skin holster from a Sam Brown set, no date unfortunatley. But written inside the flap in beautiful copper plate writing is the following N. F. Rippon then a possible srvice number 6266ZZ followed by P.W.O Norfolk Art (M) Now the best fit I can find is the Prince of Walees Own Norfolk Artillery Militia. I've sent a couple of e mails the re-eanctment group and a local geneologist, but any one here any knowledge?
Tony B
Finnaly got to show the holster to somone who is a Genealogist. Ten minutes hunting and he found the owner! He was Neale Florance Reginald Rippingall (1883-1954) Shown a Lieutenat The Prince of Wales Own Norfolk Artillery ( June 1902. Now that wa sthe year the Sam Brown belt and Kakhi were officially adopted by Militia forces. So he must have spent his own hard cash to get it, they wern't supplied.
