Jolly Jeeper
The 28 Inf from the AEF near Soissons, France July 16 1916. I think it's a Model T Ford. JC
Great War truck
Sorry John, i have not been ignoring you, but have been out and about for the last week or so. It looks a bit Model T, but not a lot to go on there. I was wondering if it might be something a little bigger like a Dodge tourer. Any more photos? Thanks for posting Tim (too)
Jolly Jeeper
Sorry Tim, that photo is the only one I have. It was one of those things I found on the web and copied to my desktop. It could well be something like a Dodge. I did read that the US Army had Dodges and Harleys in use during its war with Mexico. Pancho Villa's lot had Indian Motorcycles so the Indian v Harley rivalry spilled over from the race tracks to war! Regards, JC PS Not ignoring you either - been and holiday and then back to mayhem in th'office.
andreadavide
As a Model T owner I'd say it doesn't look a pre 1916 T. Andrea
Great War truck
The more i look at it the more i think it is a Dodge, but there is very little to go on. If we can wait a few weeks a will be looking at a 1916 Dodge and will take a comparisson photo for you. Quite right about Dodges being used by the Yanks in Mexico. I am just writing an article on the Punitive Mexican expedition for a future MMI. Got lots of nice photos for it so I hope everyone finds it interesting. Tony B
Could well be a Dodge, the one used by Pershing is preserved in the Dodge musuem. There is also if I can find it again, a picture on the web of a Mk4 British Tank about to go over a Dodge tourer ( Jeep owners stop sniggering)
