0 mash
The blue and red square is to mark the water proofing stage complete I believe, for the aesp: Blue with a white A is semi-permanent / production build standard Red with a white B is stage A checked and stage B completed / done on landing ship/embarkation area. Not sure on the numbers tho. Edited February 27, 2015 by mash
0 mattblack
The blue and red square is to mark the water proofing stage complete I believe, I shall confirm in my aesp's later on. I was in the belief that was only the 'A' and 'B' red blue rectangles usually on wings i have seen non wading vehicles with the larger blue / red squares which white numbers on Edited February 27, 2015 by mattblack Spelling mistake
0 mash
Very true, now I have looked properly at your picture I see what you mean, the blue A sticker is on top and the one above the ERM is more than likely a sqn marking. Note to self read posts properly before commenting
0 NigeP
Colin, I'm led to believe they are identifying which Commando they are. Mine was 42 Commando and had an 8 in the square. I didn't know myself until a retired bootneck told me. I don't know the other numbers though. Nige
0 challengertwo
Nige is correct. These are the numbers that I have, some are still used today, some units have been disbanded and this is not up to date. I did purchase an RA TRF for my vehicle (funnily enough from Colin) and a figure 8, but never stuck it on. I've sold the vehicle now. I suppose the new owner will be puzzling over the strange stickers in an envelope under the passenger seat base:D Nige
