Papav66
Another one of Bob's purchases, a Ford V8, 3 Phase generator, sitting on its own wooden sledge. Plaque reads Crompton Parkinson, Output 23.5KW, Amps 42.4, so if you know what it might have been used for please can you let me know. Thanks Paul
woa2
I've seen those mounted on 2 wheel trailers for Welding use. Think I have some info somewhere about it, I'll get back to you.
Chief
In Best, NL is a *** museum where they have an AEC wrecker truck, WW2, called "Lady Jane" which has a similar setup for the electric operated crane. CRSCRS
Not much help with info as I am after some info myself ! I too have one of these although not on a wooden stand. Heads have been off and had the mag in bits so just waiting on a set of plugs before a trial fire up !
CRSCRS
Well finally had the generator running but only for a short while as no radiator connected yet. The lucas mag has had new points and condenser, new plugs etc. Found a new old stock carb and fuel lift pump. Off to get some exhaust tubing tomorrow so I can do a bit over Christmas. Does anyone have any info on these like instructions etc or know what year they were made ? Cheers Chris.
REME 245
If military the gauges are normally dated on Generators. They or the data plates will also have AM for Air Ministry if it is ex-RAF as suggested. What voltage does it produce? Workshop Trucks could be one application amongst many others. Thanks for the reply REME I have attached some pics for you to have a look at. Just about finished doing the exhaust but ran out of gas so progress is halted again for a bit cheers Chris. REME 245
Without a date or WD or AM anywhere I would question if it is military. I would be surprised if there are not some more plates lurking somewhere. Unfortunately a lot of generators end up getting scrapped for the engine.
