GMC steering wheel

Marty, I thought they had black wheels originally, moving to wood later as the furniture industry got involved in making all manner of stuff from wood to save more precious material......but I've been wrong before!

Even the US piano factories turned out products like this I believe.

Thank you both! Then would you agree that out closed cab 1942 GMC should have the hard rubber wheel?

Marty

In theory yes...but as with all things military, anything goes. As it could be changed anytime during/after WW2. I have a hard rubber wheel on mine and I painted it OD which has now rubbed off through wear - which they would of done :-D

Thanks again!

Then we're back at what we think look best! It's getting close to x-mas and since this is a joint venture with my father I thought that a wooden wheel might be a good present. Or I could buy canvas for the winch an the hole in the roof.

By the way sell these steering whels? I'm pretty sure there are some repros around.

Marty
