  1. Hi Nick, modern practicality really! Myself, wifey, and two sons in the back, a tad cramped to say the least. Just having a little more space will make a difference. We had it in Normandy four years ago, a roof rack would have been extremely useful
  2. Hello all, I'm seriously considering adding a roof rack to my 1938 Hillman Minx, can anyone share photos of roof racks fitted to the smaller wartime cars in military service? I'm keen to get it as accurate as possible. Thanks in advance!
  3. Slightly off on a tangent, apologies, does anyone know when these BCF extinguishers started appearing? My 1962 109" has one fitted.
  4. Víčka olejových nádrží může být těžké najít, doporučuji ebay, ale ne nové víčka vyrobené v Indii, protože závity jsou často nesprávné Oil tank caps can be hard to find, I suggest ebay, but not the new Indian made caps, as the threads are often incorrect
  5. My first visit this year, with my 1938 Hillman and family. Just a single day visit, but really enjoyed it, well done to the organisers. Fingers crossed will be there for the whole weekend next year, with more vehicles.
  6. Hi all, I can't see a thread started anywhere else, so thought I would start one. 2010 was brilliant, but I think 2022 may just have been even better! I was one of the DRs on my brown Triumph, having a great time helping keep everything moving. Superb job by Peter Brown orchestrating the DRs (and the four traffic control jeeps). Great job by Bill on the Ward La France wrecker too. I had to pack up on sunday morning and head home due to family issues, but what a great weekend. A huge thanks to Jack, Jackie, Jim, Adrian and team, for the fourth time you guys smashed it! Can't wait until the next one....... 😁 Mark
  7. You could Stuart Bray. He has officially retired and I'd winding down, but his website is still in place, with his contact details. I'm fairly sure he had some a while back
  8. I've had this happen to me. In my case it was the oil pick up pipe in the sump. Air was being sucked in at the pivot of the pick up. On speaking to other jeep owners they advised slightly overfilling the sump oil got around the issue. Thd proper solution was a new pick up, but then they weren't readily available, not sure about these days?
  9. I suspect Triumph were inviting potential buyers from around the world, and having a road registered machine for testing makes a lot of sense. On a different note, after a 25 year gap, I'm finally a TRW owner again!
  10. Diesel and paraffin are both good, but personally I use coca cola. I once managed to free up a bore seized truck engine this way. Full fat, freshly opened Coke, genuine not supermarket own brand, cram as much as you possibly can into the cylinder, and wait. Maybe a few minutes or a few hours. If theres no movement, empty and repeat with another freshly opened can or bottle and try again. A lot of people clean old coins with Coke, and the same basic principle applies here.
  11. Thanks Ferretfixer, but I see very few correct for a MB/GPW, but happy to be corrected. Could you post a link to one that you've seen?
  12. Hi Tim, Thanks for the recommendation - they've gone to the top of my Christmas list! Cheers Mark
  13. Hi, does anyone have a correct spec screwdriver for an MB/GPW that they would be willing to sell? Doesn't have to be an Irwin, as other manufacturers also made them. I'm located in Hampshire,UK.
  14. Hi Teeone, Good to have another 2a 109 owner on here! Mine is a 1962 ex Royal Artillery vehicle. Great that you are planning on bringing yours back to RN spec. Regards, Mark
