    Did you refresh afterwards?
  2. Those and the headlight covers ☺️
  3. Very nice job, do you weld up the hex holes in the bolts to make them appear rivets?
  4. A G503 is one of those rare convertibles that looks good with both hood up & down ☺️ I never bothered to put it under the seat, I just roll/fold it around the hoops when they are down.
  5. The Solex 32PBIC carburetor has been used on many vehicles, like the Porsche 356, Hotchkiss M201 jeep and a load of other 1950's-60's cars. It has also commonly been fitted to MB/GPW jeeps to replace the original Carter, and repro's are still being made in India and sold by the usual parts dealers. Recently I watched this video on Youtube and thought he had a good point: In short, due to an error in the official French military rebuild manual (cause unknown) a small ball valve in the accelerator pump suddenly became a jet, and most if not all modern rebuild kits subsequently have a jet included now, not a valve. The rebuilt carb with the jet instead of the valve will work fine, but with a small flat spot during acceleration. It concerns part #32 in the diagram below: For the rest, see the video. Since it is a common modification to use these 32PBIC's on WW2 jeeps I thought it might be handy to share here
  6. Maybe one of these would do the trick: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rivet_gun#Squeeze_riveter I guess it couldn't hurt to go around local metal fabricator companies and ask if they can help me with that, if I bring the jeep along with the parts ready to go on as I think they still use tools like these. What size & source for the rivets did you find?
  7. That looks really nice, I wonder if this tool would work too for the smaller front rivets of a jeep frame (bumper gussets and grill brackets)? I guess getting an anvil at the back might be a bit tricky but not impossible.
  8. I read about that on another forum a few weeks ago, it's unclear at the moment why they bothered to recover these since the Polish government claims ownership of remains like these. No doubt some sort of deal was made first, but for now it's unclear what will happen with the wrecks or where they will be kept.
  9. If needed I think vehicle canvas suppliers can sell you a scrap piece.
  10. I have a 1944 dated US folding camp bed that I use regularly. The canvas gets quite some tension, so I think just mending the tear isn't enough, you will need a patch. If you can source a suitable material (khaki or green canvas would be fine I think) I'm sure any sailmaker can help you out. It just needs a heavy-duty sewingmachine big enough to let the frame of the cot through.
  11. Great job! You could consider treating the inside of the chassis now with Tectyl or a similar product, now everything is in easy reach?
