  3. EventPlan welcome the return of our ever popular Multi-period event; the Grand Historical Bazaar. Thorseby Hall is the picturesque location of this new event for the calendar. 12. Hi there Simon, Just to let you know that the event is still Happening. We have not received anything from you as we have replied to all emails that we have received so far. If you would like to private message me your email address then I can forward the information to you. We are mainly focusing on the cold war period and the split of Germany into the sectors. It has got a main basis around what would happen if the attacks did happen during the period. This is covering all aspects from soviet/east german reenactors and vehicles to Civil defence/ Royal observer Corps and BAOR troops. Basically it is open to any vehicles from the period and associated kit. Matthew

  14. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Want to attend with a vehicle or living history display? Please email: ellie@plantagenet-events.com for more information and booking forms. https://www.facebook.com/events/1667508590192392/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Soviet Threat is advancing on Hack Green Nuclear bunker again this Easter weekend (26th & 27th March). The museum is taking a step back in time and investigating what life was like either side of the Berlin Wall during the Cold War. Keep an eye out for patrolling troops around the Nantwich area on Saturday and Sunday morning as the Bunker welcomes re-enactors and their military vehicles in through ...its gates. Across the site there will be military camps set up giving an insight into how lives were lived by both Western and Eastern forces. The event will be patrolled and check points will have to be passed as visitors are invited to venture between the two sides of the Cold War. Inside the bunker there will be various characters keeping check on the opposition and any possible nuclear attacks; don’t forget to listen out for that all important nuclear siren and pay attention to the troops when they show you how to prepare for an attack. But don’t worry, there’ll be plenty of chances to check whether it’s all safe with comrades in full fallout uniforms and Geiger counters also patrolling the corridors. The event, in its third year, is organised by two young Cheshire businesswomen and keen local historians. Lucy Seibert the Museum Director at Hack Green Nuclear Bunker and Eleanore Hill-Bruce of Plantagenet Events who specialise in historical events across the country, “The Last 2 years have seen the event grow in popularity and we had fabulous feedback from participants and public alike; and this year looks set to be another successful year of east versus west.” With reports of re-enactors attending the 2016 event from as far away as Southampton, it’s made a real impression on the world of Cold War enthusiasts and the girls hope the event will continue to grow and help to educate new generations about the Cold War. The Soviet Threat event is open from 10:30am on both Saturday and Sunday, with last entry at 5pm.
