  1. Correct Mike, just looked at my archive images and there isn't a winch on either type.
  2. Thanks, must admit I hadn't seen a Crusader with a ballast box on mobile radar, we used the S26 with ballast and draw bar trailer, the Crusaders were used with 5th wheel trailers.
  3. Looks like an ex RAF mobile radar unit, with ballast box instead of 5th wheel?
  4. Not sure if Russell's offer has been accepted but I have added the details to my site in the hope that someone will save this iconic trailer. http://www.rafmtd.co.uk/restoration/restoration.html#added160913
  5. Just a quick update to the 'Alconbury Bridge' trailer, earlier this year I went to photograph it but you can't get close to it without trespassing the adjacent fields and judging by the signs it wasn't worth the risk.
  6. I thought I'd seen a thread on here regarding the Scammell Scarab, but I don't think this is the one !! Anyhow, I don't know if this has already been posted in the forum, Mods please feel free to move/delete as you see fit..... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y93t44AhsEQ
  7. snort, If you're looking for a front end you could try the one at Wickenby if it's still there. I enquired several years ago and the result was positive but was too much for me to undertake. I'd hate to see one chopped up but if it means you making a restored one then There's a bit of info on my site http://www.rafmtd.co.uk/restoration/restoration.html

  9. I also recall collecting vehicles from Ashchurch and Hilton during the seventies and eighties and having a wander around whilst waiting for said vehicles. I also remember the other end of the scale, Ruddington, where we disposed of vehicles. Anyhow ............ here's a picture (Admittedly not brilliant) taken a couple of weeks ago in Portsmouth dock with the Ark Royal in the background awaiting her fate.
  10. Any clues here? http://www.mapleleafup.net/forums/showthread.php?p=170304

  12. Just looking back through this thread and it doesn't look like I've posted pictures of one of the Crusaders we had at Staxton Wold (Mobile Radar, late eighties), I recently scanned the photo's in to send to Phil who now has the sister vehicle 78 AN 14. Apologies if I've already posted these!
  13. Apologies if this has already been posted on the group. Found a nice piece of original footage on You Tube.........
  14. Has this found a home yet? Not that I'm in any position to accomodate it (Our local Museum's already have QM exhibits), I'm just interested where it'll end up.
