Postman and in REME TA as a recce mech, avatar is piccy of us using GPMGs in Gibraltar.
  1. My moles in SEME and security have been told that the move to Lyneham has been put off until at least 2020 and maybe not at all, though this has not been announced in the local rag yet .
  2. Go for it , we went to the Todd Battery and the V3 factory with the TA a couple of years ago ending up in Ypres and it was humbling
  3. Don't know if this will work http://360.io/SJvLqs but this is a shot before we moved the Amazon until the rear bogie was in line and then removed the rear bogie with the Contractor and took into the museum with part of the rear frame attached so it can be repaired, the rear cross bracing is damaged , and shot blasted and painted. http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd250/Bedfordrl/058-1.jpg
  4. I am looking to replace two of the tyres on my RL but I am thinking of doing away with the bar grips altogether as I have found in the wet on tarmac and especially in the snow on tarmac they are dreadful ,I am sure a few motorists have nightmares after seeing me come around a corner sideways towards them . With 4WD only in low range and a deep dislike being evident of being in low on the road too long ,the journey home was , well, exciting.
  5. Apparently it broke a while ago and has not moved since.
  6. http://youtu.be/CAAKqIN8pu8 Only Conqueror ARV running encouraging a Sherman ARV to go home. Very short clip as I am having "fun" learning how to use my new phone.
  7. Excellent .. and a picture of the RL as well !.
  8. The Double LL show that also was at five heads lane (don't know if it is still going) also had people going home early, it is a bit naughty but some people have large distances to travel and in elderly vehicles this alone is a feat worth allowing plenty of time for. We enjoy the use of the showers despite them being a bit hot and there was a good turn out of trade stalls and the weather was kind halla bloody loola !! past years have been washouts or blowouts. Only one point we could make was the beer tent kindly stayed open for us lot staying Monday night but when we went down there after the BarBQue we were the first customers and they had got fed up and were packing up. One other point that has crossed my mind is why are there no British Army re-enactments fighting German forces ?.
  9. Well that was fun,, hope this works. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8wqm4hoty2U&feature=g-upl (if not I will draw it for everyone, bloody computers) ps goes on a bit, actual lift starts at about four minutes and Yay!! it worked , now full of 21st century electronic do dad know how I am off to finally win at Pong.
  10. Hah! that took half an hour of typing/tapping/squinting and swearing to get that far, will bang a few rocks together to see what we can do.
  11. http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=232952290141614 Drops picking up MTLB from the perspective of in the cab. A bit long and nothing really happens until about at four minutes
  12. Brake pressure release now happily staying at 120 psi after dismantling and rebuilding , new spring on the brake pedal return, fuel non return valve fitted ,all greased up and oiled up and re-paint (in wrong colour (again)) and all in one week and hopefully will be there this weekend , oh and have a twenty foot flag pole to sort out ,forgot about that. So if you see a Bedford RL in Olive drab don't laugh, at least it does not look like this anymore http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_PczYxBlJjM .
  13. Yesterday http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KYqyF7CrlXs&feature=share
  14. Cannot fault the Plod though, called the 101 number and was expecting them today but they were there in about ten minutes and came back within five minutes when I recalled them, top marks there.
  15. Last night my son coming home from work caught a couple of thieves syphoning petrol from my Range Rover, he shouted at them and they buggered off leaving an empty gallon can and a hose pipe. I checked the Bedford and the fuel cap was on but the padlock was cut and the filler pipe was missing. I called the police and they took away the evidence . I went off to bed ,this was after 23:00 , and lay wondering why the gallon can was empty when they had had a go at the Bedford, I then went back out and looked in the nearby hedge and found the filler pipe, undamaged, and a pair of bolt cutters and a five gallon drum full of petrol. Police re-called and they took away the bolt cutters and there is a new padlock on the Lorry. The Bedford lives in the front garden because where it was before it got lumps of concrete thrown through the windows and other damage. In the front garden I left the canvas on, it is a GS, as it is cheaper to replace the canvas than cope with serious wood and metal water damage, someone thought it would be fun to set fire to it. It now lives with the canvas off and has rust and rot issues and now is obviously seen as a target for free fuel. We now sleep at night with the windows open jumping up at any sudden noise, today I will be working out a way of putting security lights around it if I can but I am just sick of having to protect my property from utter bastards.
