  1. I'm so sorry to hear of Tomo's death. I followed this blog with great interest and am amazed at his ability to get things done. He and his comments will be sorely missed. Bosun Al aka Al Fisher
  2. Now THAT is a piece of art! Bosun Al
  3. So sorry to hear about the fire, Toby. I cannot imagine starting out again, but you and your family will survive. Anyone who can put so much energy into restoring the beautiful vehicles shown in this forum certainly will recover, hopefully much quicker you could restore a vehicle. By chance was yours one of the thousands of homes lost in the current California wildfires? The image of such homes is always with us here; a sad one indeed. Barbara and I are very proud of our son, a battalion chief here in San Diego, who is on one of the fires as I write this Bosun Al
  4. Incidently, the recent (September 2020) issue of Who Do You Think You Are UK) has a short article about QAINS. Bosun Al
  5. Anyone have a source for old Airfix Magazine, hopefully in digital format? I've about 130 issues in PDF format and am greedily looking for more! Bosun Al
  6. Sorry but I wasn't able to play the film . . . got an error message "geo", suggesting that it might not be available in the USA Bosun Al
  7. That's a nice piece of art! Will we be seeing it in a expo of modern art? Bosun Al
  8. Just wanted to thanks all of you for posting during the COVID-19 fandango. It's a great diversion for those of us who are sequestered at home. Bosun Al
  9. I really appreciate everyone on the HTMF site for sharing their photos, techniques, and comments on the forum. They're a real eye opener to those of us who have never had the experience of reconstructing anything -- never mind a vehicle. The added historical aspect itself is a huge plus. Bosun Al
  10. Is anyone aware of a cummulative index for Classic Military Vehicle magazine? I have roughly a hundred issues and find it difficult to search for a particuar article. Any suggestions welcome . . . Bosun Al
  11. Does anyone know if the Thornycroft monthly circular (staff magazine) archives are available online? Bosun Al
  12. A pleasure to help someone after all the questions I've asked! Al
  13. I found a copy of Munitions of War, BSA and Daimler on-line at the University of Calgary Library. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a way to download the entire book, but could read it page-by-page. Thus I was able to copy about 30 pages of material on Thornycroft vehicles by copying one page at a time. This is not as tedious as it sounds and took me only about 15 minutes. http://contentdm.ucalgary.ca/digital/collection/cmh/id/106331 Bosun Al
