  1. Welcome to the forum! Dare I ask in public - what year is the Capri? 🙂
  2. Would a RAF bike have a 'C' number on it? I thought, maybe incorrectly, that it would be an RAFxxx.. number?
  3. Translation - I am solving a problem - I managed to lose the oil tank cap on a Triumph 3 HW - although the sellers say it is the same as the fuel tank, it is not true - the petrol tank cap is larger - thread 4.4 cm, the diameter of the cap (thread) of the oil tank will be approx. 4.1 mm. Can you advise me where to get it: thank you
  4. I told you this was the place to come! 🙂 Duncan
  5. At the risk of being got off the target, which of course we have been, you say you were 1/4 mile away from this Vulcan - so far away you could not actually count the number of men involved in the actions around it, yet you could clearly make out a five foot spherical object with coloured cables and pipework attached to it being unloaded partially behind a screen? Hmmm. That is not including the fact(?) that no Vulcan Squadrons were operating from there to the best of my limited research. I am not familiar with Farnborough so cannot comment on the actual distance from your tree line to the 'research centre' so I would be interested to hear any comments from anyone other than Andy on the quoted distance.
  6. I totally agree with you and Paul with your posted arguements, but to give Andy a tiny bit of credibility I have to say that the 'crap' photo he provided of Milton(?) does appear to have two transporters and at least two tanks. I make no claim that my i.d. of them is definite but they do look along the right lines. This may perhaps call in to question the results you drew from the guys on the RAOC forum. It could be that for some reason there were some tanks there at the time this photo was taken, irrespective of it being an RAOC Vehicle Depot?
  7. Thanks very much fellas, much appreciated!!
  8. Sorry if this seems an obvious question but the stories of this legendary yard pre-date my interest in military vehicles. Could someone post a map on here which accurately shows where the yard was please?
  9. Thanks very much chaps, always a good answer on here!
  10. Found this online, it is by far the clearest of three photos, so I won't waste time posting the others. Dated 1947 and is in England. My first thought is they were Hellcats but then a quick count of the number of wheeels suggested I could be wrong. Open to you guys.
  11. Name and shame mate! It might be a case of last resort but it will help others avoid the particular individual. If he is a member of this forum then he has the opportunity to come forward and defend his work. If he isn't, then the loss of future work through this forum might eventually get back to him?
