  1. Hi, I am looking or more having to replace the rear Crossmember and searching for a supplier to purchase from. I am not quite sure what part number I should be using, as I believe I have a civilian Crossmember given the military Crossmembers seem to be just straight bars rather than slanted at the end. However, when I look at the civilian Crossmembers they do not seem to accommodate the holes for the NATO Trailer socket and the NATO hitch holes look a tad dubious as well. Would anyone be able to help with my conundrum before I buy one and drill holes into it. I have attached some pictures of the rear cross member to help. Grateful for any assistance if possible. Many thanks Steve
  2. Thank you for the information, really appreciated. I'll contact Servo Connectors and see what they say. Thank you also for confirming the connector type, that is a big help as well. Many thanks.
  3. Appreciate the help and contact details, I shall see whether they can help me . Many thanks
  4. Hi all, I am looking to make up some 3 core cabling and connectors for some additional 24v penthouse lamps I have acquired (3 pin, screw connections, clansman’s era not the fancy penthouse “bulbs” used these days). Sadly I can’t find any of the cables for sale, so instead I have researched the connectors, believe that this is the connector I need is - Amphenol - MS3106E10SL-3S - Circular Connector, MIL-DTL-5015 Series, Straight Plug, 3 Contacts, Solder Socket, Threaded, 10SL-3 I just needed to sense check my selected connector with someone that actually knows or whether there is another connector I should be using before I start making the cables up as these connectors require a small mortgage to purchase them 😊. Any help or guidance greatly appreciated, many thanks
  5. Good evening. I wondered if someone could help me with a part number conundrum for my 1986 Defender FFR Tithonus. I am looking to replace the rear support (for what I think provides bracing for the rear tub from the rear cross member) as shown in the photos below. Hopefully the photos help show where the support is locate and what it look like(rear corner of the vehicle). My conundrum being that I have search a significant number of Landrover part catalogues but unable to identify anything that looks like this part or any part that is located in the same area to be able purchase a replacement. This doesn’t look like a bespoke or ad hoc "Army" addition given there is one on the opposite rear corner, so wondering if anyone could help with a part number and or a similar part if possible. Very grateful for any help anyone can give me. Appreciated.
  6. Perfect thank you, appreciate the quick response. You are right the switch was a little tricky, interesting arrangement for the contact mechanism, luckily it stayed in place long enough to close the lid, no idea what it looks like inside now, but it works
  7. Apologies but I know a wiring guru on this site will be able to double check my thinking. I have a fault with the live on my NATO 6 Way Switch which stops the normal headlights, sidelights on my defender from coming on. As soon as I turn the switch from "off" to headlight, sidelights or convoy the circuit cuts out and all the lights including indicators stop working. I have worked through the problem having taken the switch apart and it is now back together, the issue is the brown live terminal which is cracked. Whilst I work out how to repair the terminal and looking at the wiring diagram, as a temporary fix, I believe I can jump between the Brown live and the Brown and white connector to allow the normal lights to work via the switch. Before I do that I thought I might just check with you to confirm, not really keen on burning out the loom as I note their is a fair amount of current running through the live wires on this switch, Any help gratefully received. I have added some images below and indicated in red what I am looking to connect. Many thanks
  8. Hello All Does any one know if there is a maintenance manual for this type of generator, my FFR Landrover is sounding like it is in pain as the generator could do with some grease on its bearings, but can't see anything that allows that to happen Any help, greatfully received Steve
  9. Hi All if you have a Armsafe / Hawker UK6TNMF battery for sale, that holds a charge, I would be very interested in purchasing it Many thanks Steve
  10. Hi All Still seeking a battery, if anyone has one for sale (that holds a charge), please let me know. Many thanks Steve
  11. Hi do you still have the batteries? If so, are you up for a sale, only really looking for one though Steve
  12. Sorry for you delay in getting back to everyone, got a tad busy, thank you for the posts . I have tried the pulse tech charger route, sadly to no avail, I think the batteries are truely dead, I am trying again but don't hold out much hope so still looking for replacements, if anyone has a live battery please get in contact. I am located in Sussex if that helps and more than willing to pick up within a reasonable distance. Steve
  13. would anyone be able to help me in locating a Hawker Battery for my FFR Landrover, unable to afford new, so looking to buy a decent second hand battery. They seem a little bit like gold dust, I think I have been looking in the wrong places Any help greatly appreciated Steve
  14. Evening everyone My name is Steve, I own a 1985 110 FFR military Landrover and have done for a couple of years, I think I am slowly rebuilding it, luckily it always makes me smile regardless of the cost I was in the services and seem to be returning slowly to green things again. Take care Steve
