  5. Hi Clive, Sorry, I should have said. Had a fiddle with the bank of bullet connectors and then a worked fine with a new fuse in. Not totally clear just what/where it was but will run it and see if it goes again. Thanks Jim
  6. Hi Clive, Thanks for your message. I remember you mentioning it in an earlier post about the loose screws. Not my issue unfortunately. I think I must hace a dead short somewhere, at least it lasted until it ran out of fuel before melting so I'm assuming the genny is fine.
  7. Hi All, I have a ferret which has a 2-speed generator, coupled with a Generator Box No. 2 mk2/1. After a while of being stored I got it fired up and found the generator light stayed on. On further examination I found the main 50amp fuse in the top cover of the Gen Box had blown, so I replaced it. Started up fine, light went out and stayed out while the engine was running. However, on stopping the engine, I could audibly hear a 'fizzing sound', I quickly cut the power from a battery. I then tentatively reconnected the batteries and, no sound. I then turned the ignition on again, got the 2 warning lights correctly lit and on starting found the red light was again staying on. On investigation found the 50A fuse burned away!! I must have a serious fault, I wondered if anyone here might have any similar experience? Any advice greatly appreciated. Thanks Jim
  8. HI, After getting the servo to work the difference was amazing. It stopped on a sixpence and still does to this day. I can state that if these brakes are correctly setup then only light brake pressure is required to stop her. Have you overhauled the servo?
  9. Hi, Not the easiest part to find but try Norman at Bygonebedfordbits or Chris Morter, both great guys and one or't other should get you going! Regards,Jim.
  10. I do have a pair of NOS hub assemblies but not the sun gear. I do have a pair of ferret sun gears but I would need to check to see if they fitted. pics hopefully attached.
  11. I think I have a pair of NOS hub planet assemblies for fox and big wheeled ferret. Will try to get a photo. Jim
  12. Sorry to hijack this thread but I have a Wisconsin engine with a magneto and I get a tiny spark from the end of the plug lead, (not enough to create a spark at the end of the spark plug). Unfortunately its a big job to remove the cover to clean the points, or anything else for that matter. Since I'm not up on magneto's I wondered if any experts might be kind enough to give me any pointers? TIA Jim
