  1. Hello Tony Thanks for the reply. He was actually in the 6th Field Regiment of the Royal Artillery, of which there is next to no information that i can find on them online...
  2. Hello everybody I was hoping to find out a little bit of information about my grandfather's army career as a driver (1949-1954). I have recently received his army service records, in which he served in Tripoli, Libya (1949-1951), as a Driver (Group C; Class I) and Suez Canal, Egypt (1951-1952) as a Driver/Signaller (Group B; Class II). I was just wondering whether anybody might be able to advise on what vehicles this would have allowed him to drive. Additionally, might anybody know what his role as a driver/signaller might have entailed. A thousand thank yous in advance. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Tom
  3. My name is Tom, I am 26 years old and an amateur genealogist. I am actually here with the hope of finding out a little more about my grandfather's military career as a driver during the late 1940s/early 1950s. I look forward to interacting with the rest of you via this forum and hopefully finding out a little bit of information about my grandfather's army driving career. Nice to meet all of you! Tom
