  1. Well, Wicksteed at War kicks off again tomorrow with our education day. We have over 200 local school children working their way through stands tomorrow, with armour and stallholders arriving in earnest tonight. Registration for vehicles and reenactors is still underway, and any last minute exhibitors can book in on arrival! All you will need with vehicles is valid driving license and insurance, for reenactors Public Liability cover. Hope to see some of you there! Andy
  2. Quick show update. The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight have confirmed for both days! Saturday will see a fly past of BOTH Spitfire and Hurricane to start off the afternoon in the arena. Sunday will see the Lancaster bomber appearing back in one of its first shows this season to kick off our World War Two re-enactment. We are still taking vehicle and re-enactor entries through the website, and we have now confirmed we will have a reenactors mess tent available all weekend to save eyebrows, and to offer some variety! http://www.wicksteedatwar.co.uk/exhibitor-information/vehicle-exhibitors-application/ http://www.wicksteedatwar.co.uk/exhibitor-information/re-enactor-group-application/ Free Wristbands for the rides in the park are still available for all registered re-enactors and vehicle owners.
  3. Will be trying to update the thread more regularly as we get closer to the show. Today's update: Checkpoint Charlie Construction is well underway with some novel ideas on how to save time filling sandbags and paint going on the structure! Anyone interested in 60's Berlin we are trying to get more vehicles booked in to go alongside our T55 and Walker Bulldog that was actually at the Checkpoint in the 60's! Mutts, Reo's, Trabants etc! We will also have one of the original 432's used in the Berlin sector on display from the guys at Armourgeddon. As well as their Centurion! For more updates you can find us on Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/Wicksteed-at-War-191272837589244/
  4. With just over a month to go now until the show final preparations are under way for Wicksteed at War 2016. The Tickets to the Victory Dance are selling fast! http://www.wicksteedatwar.co.uk/whats-on-guide-for-waw-2016/waw-2016-victory-party/#more-610 The education day on Friday 10th is also starting to get booked up. This will once again be open to local schools as a way of bringing History to life in-line with what their curriculum. Finally, for those that have not visited before, last years show as reviewed by the South East Midlands MVT can be found here: http://www.mvtsem.com/68501.html

  6. Unfortunately Wicksteed has spent a lot of money re-modelling the lake bank in the last couple of years. As such vehicles in the lake is likely one for the future! We may have some Marines and possibly even a cockleshell hero re-enactor present over the weekend however...
  7. Returning for another year Wicksteed at War has a distinctly post-war flavour this year. We are re-creating Checkpoint Charlie complete with a Walker-Bulldog and T55. Other highlights include a static display spitfire and WW2 living history displays and reenactment. www.wicksteedatwar.co.uk https://www.facebook.com/Wicksteed-at-War-191272837589244/ In the arena we will have CVRT, military working dogs and a display from the REME. All vehicles, stallholders and reenactment groups are welcome and you can register on the website above, or get in touch through the Facebook group. Where else can you attend a free weekend-long show in a theme park, with a 40's dinner dance on the Saturday night?
  8. Hi guys, Andy here! Just getting involved with military vehicles with some mates who are already involved, and looking to invest in my first vehicle. My main interests are World War 2 vehicles. Hope to speak to more of you soon. Thanks, Andy
