  4. Hi all, Can anyone help identify the unit 4A.C Squadron that has been engraved below this Centurion Tank Plate?. The plate looks to be a bring back by a crew member who served in Korea 51-52. Many thanks Alex
  5. Very interesting, I imagine with these tanks being so low profile the gun gets close to the drivers area. I have a feeling the driver may have got annoyed with this tag and threw it out as it was found in a field.
  6. Hi all, Picked up this warning tag which appears to be for a Valentine/Covenanter and refers to the turret being locked forward while the compass is in use. Does anyone know anymore about this? Why was it specific to these two tanks and where abouts on the tank it would have been? Thanks, Hamble
  7. New Article on what are Tank Data Plates https://militarydataplates.com/what-are-tank-data-plates/

  10. Thank you @Richard Farrant @Adrian Barrell @PITT24423 for the information about the makers initials. I've made a page to list all the known and unknown WW1 British Wagon And Cart Makers. https://militarydataplates.com/ww1-british-wagon-and-cart-makers-list/ If anyone knows any more makers or initials let me know.
  11. Very interesting thank you for the information. Might try making a list of all the cart and wagon manufacturers with the abbreviations they used on the plates unless such a list already exists. Cracking plates I'll try to get them all up on the website this weekend. The Ordnance 5 ton artillery tractor is a very interesting vehicle I'm surprised any have survived.
  12. Hi all, I've set up a website to share photos of WW1 Wagon, Cart and Vehicle Data Plates (like the Officers Mess one below) . Either on or off the vehicles and the information around the plates. https://militarydataplates.com/ww1-vehicle-plates/ It has a few data plates from my personal collection, but I'd love if anyone has any photos of data plates they'd be willing to have shared on the website. Please post them as comments or email me at: militarydataplates@gmail.com For each plate if you could mention the vehicle it is off, any history about the plate/vehicle and if the plate is still on the vehicle, a photo of the vehicle itself with the plate visible as well would be great. Also if you have any feedback or things that could be added to the website please let me know. Many thanks, Hamble
  13. Yes its all types of tracked vehicles and wheeled armoured vehicles from the WW1, inter war and WW2 eras. A unarmoured WW1 section is coming soon and in the future it may include a section for unarmoured WW2 vehicles too.
  14. Thanks Surveyor for the feedback, I will edit my post as I agree the more information and background to the plates the better.
  15. Hi all, I've set up a website to share photos of WW1 and WW2 Tank and Tracked Vehicle Data Plates (like the Churchill tank one below) .
