  1. They are ski mittens. Designed to be worn over the three compartment woollen mittens.
  2. Thought I'd share this; it clarifies the pattern date of the post war jersey. It's taken from "Hints on the Correct Use of Cold Weather Clothing 1954". Allen
  3. Was it Tenco Textiles? Amherst Road, E8 area.
  4. On the left, boot SV dated 1945; on the right boot CWW dated 1953.
  5. If we're both thinking of the same photos, (3Para, CQMS and others) then the boots in the photo are actually CWW (Cold, Wet weather) as introduced in the Korean War. Boots SV are, as posted elsewhere, ammo boot uppers with Itshide commando soles.
  6. Excellent selection of shirts. May I add another one to the timeline? 1948 to 1950, full fronted as the 1951 pattern but lacking the "wrap over section". The buttons are the same type as the half fronted collar attached shirt of 1948.
  7. I have ever seen a poncho marked "1958pattern". There was a 1962 pattern which was superseded by the "poncho, lightweight" - the nylon version which everyone calls the 1958 pattern. The rubberised "1944 pattern" poncho was still being manufactured in the 1960s. The one in the photo is definitely British - see the WD arrow below the manufacturer's name.
  8. Looks remarkably like a 1962 pattern poncho. Description and markings certainly suggest that.
  9. The official pouches were pattern sealed in 1967. Before then all sorts of local contract pouches were made so yours could well be those.
  10. New member here. I found this forum through my interest in post WW2 uniform. I found this article from 1971 which I thought might be of interest to other forum members. Allen
