  1. Good info and common sense, but I could really do with a definitive list / piece of legislation. Im sure im perfectly legal in that my 'weapon' is a) fake and b) made out of plastic soil pipe, but I fully anticipate someone complaining and getting pulled at some point. Id just like to be able to talk myself out of any hassle. And if that fails, Id very much like to know what the worst thing I can legally replace it with so they realise how silly it is and let me put my plastic fantastic back on! Cheers
  2. Hi Could someone point me to a thread regarding what weapons (or imitations) can be legally be displayed on / in vehicles used on the road in the Uk? Or if no existing thread, a summary of what is acceptable? Cheers
  3. Would the chap who rang with the Oldbury somewhere near the M25 give me another call please? You didnt leave me a contact number or other details, and I would very much like to buy it! I have an empty wagon your way at the end of this week and once again end of next week so can get it moved. Still looking for others though if anyone else would like to sell me one! Cheers
  4. Hi, I am in need of a few ex-military draw bar trailers. Ideally it would be the 7t Oldbury or similar, but all considered. Condition not too important, so long as it has one fixed axle and one steering axle - two fixed axles are no use to me. 20ft x 8ft or thereabouts would be ideal. Located Northern Scotland, but can collect anywhere in the Uk, whether its for one or more... Hope someone can help! Feel free to email or bell me on 07929 390828 All the best NE WANTED: Drawbar trailers / bale trailers and hay drays. Any size, any condition. Many are ex-military such as the one shown, which suits my needs fine. The only thing that really matters is that they are of the 4 wheel type with a wheel at each corner, and a steering dolly at one end Fixed axle trailers are no use to me. Collect anywhere, cash waiting, and I need a few. Thanks! 5. The sudden influx is due to this weekends weather forecast John - bucket loads of snow on the way! Good to see another highlander here - wont be long before we have our heads together and are organising a show.... Im just outside Inverness by the way - where you at? Cheers
  6. Fancy seeing you here Walts! Beer Moth is looking good - and good but of inspiration for our intrepid restorer here (Incase youve not figured it out, you were at my place the other day - Iv just got my Austin K9 I was telling you about)
  7. New show? Sounds good! Do it! We have a vintage rally here near Inverness in September each year that we could piggy back if anyones interested? Its only 3 years old and is mainly tractors etc, but it usually attracts a couple of MVs. Im sure they would be happy for a few of us to show - I can find out. Il be taking my truck next year.
  8. Alec - it really is a very small world! :-D By the way - I checked out the Scottish MV site, but couldnt see anywhere to join. Or is it just an info site? Look forward to meeting some of you over the coming months.
  9. I may be stupid but.... My Austin K9 has the wiper mech all in place, including the arms, but is missing blades. Where can I find some cut-to-length with the correct fitting? I can post a pic later if it helps. Im guessing theres probably someone on the forum who supplies such things, so Id rather my business went to them Cheers
  10. Thanks for the warm welcome chaps, and thanks for your help in previous weeks Paul. Small world innit? Sent you a PM regarding the tyres John. So.... any meets in these northern wastes?
  11. Greetings from Inverness, Scottish Highlands. Just joined up after 'accidentally' buying my first military vehicle - a 1953 Austin K9. Usual story - sounded interesting, easy project.... now sat in garden :-D I know little of its history other than it was restored 10 - 20 years ago and then laid up in dry store. As such everything works but it now has that nice patina. I wont be cleaning it. The wireless box was rotten so Iv replaced it with a hardwood flatbed which is a bit more useful - other than that it needs wipers (source anyone?), mirrors fitting, a set of tyres and a registration number. Should be on the road in the next week or two ) Cheers PS If anyone has a pair or a set of part worn 9.00 x 20 bargrips going spare, Id be interested in buying them.
